Testimonies

Testimonies are examples of divine intervention. They provide encouragement, support and hope to people. Above all they glorify God. No matter what you may be going through remember nothing is impossible for God. He is certainly a miracle working God! Below is a selection of Testimonies which show the wonders of God.

CAREER SUCCESS
Our God is truly a God who fulfils His promises. He said we should ask and we shall receive. My life is full of testimonies of God’s goodness but my favourite testimony by far is my career.

For as long as I can remember I’ve always been passionate about aircraft, aviation and the military.

I started work at a small engineering consultancy. It was just supposed to be a stop gap until I could get a “proper” job. I applied to different companies for 4 years but nothing worked. I had all the highly placed connections but no matter how hard I tried and prayed I never got an offer. Through all this I still always dreamed and prayed I would one day be able to travel abroad to study aerospace engineering as I thought there was no other way to get a job at an aerospace firm.

When God decided to move, He showed that the wisdom of man is foolishness to God. He prompted me and made provision for me to get my Project Management certification. (I had gained experience in project support while working at the consultancy). Next He opened a door that we had given up on years ago. My mother, who was born in the UK had been duped by a dodgy lawyer who disappeared with all her original documents while she was trying to apply for her British passport. Not only did God revisit and solve this issue after over 10 years, the new lawyer she used pointed out a clause in British Immigration Law that allowed children born to British Citizens before 1st Jan 1983 to register as British Citizens. I was born 30th November 1982! Just a month later and I would not have qualified. I received my UK citizenship and passport while still in Nigeria!

I moved to the UK and secured my first job as a project analyst using my project management certification. Then God opened doors and I got a similar role at the Ministry of Defence. At this point I felt God had done more than enough and I was content. But He wasn’t done yet. I got promoted after only 7 months in the MOD and moved to a Combat Aircraft Project! I am one of only 2 civilians on my team and the only one who doesn’t have a background in aerospace engineering or a masters and yet I am directly involved in the manufacture and sustainment of the UK’s most advanced fighter aircraft. God is a good God and He truly is able to bless us beyond what we ask or imagine. I never dreamed I would get such an opportunity.

I pray this blesses someone and encourages you not to give up. Things are working together for your good (even though you don’t see it) and God will make your heart’s desire come to pass in Jesus name. TRUST HIM!

HEALING
GOD PUT THE DEVIL TO SHAME! I had a fall at work and hurt my ankle. I never knew it was actually a fracture. For almost two weeks I was using my leg as normal through excruciating pain. It was the intention of the enemy to injure me but God put the devil to shame. One day I went to work and when they saw how I was walking I was sent for an x-ray. It was then that I was properly diagnosed and I was told it would take over 6 weeks to heal. This was an extremely stressful period for me. I am a very active person and never dreamt of staying in the same place for so many hours. I had to wait for my husband or children if I wanted anything. I felt so helpless. It was very demoralising. This was the perfect opportunity for the devil to minister to me. I thank God for my Pastor and his wife. They came as soon as I called and helped to uplift my spirit. When they arrived I was crying, by the time they left I was happy and laughing.
We do not know what God has saved us from. No matter what we pass through we must remember to do it in God’s way and to lean on Him 100%. At my 6 week x-ray I was told I am completely healed. I can now jump! Thank God for his amazing healing power.
Mrs Stella Egwuonwu

GOD IS A GOOD GOD. It started in 2011 when I experienced pain in my abdomen. I visited the doctor’s surgery several times but I was given pain killers each visit. As time went on I started experiencing blood in my stool, extreme fatigue, and nausea etc. I visited the surgery again and this time the doctor referred me to see a specialist as he thought it might be haemorrhoids (piles).
I went to Frenchay Hospital to see the specialist. The diagnosis was not clear as it wasn’t the haemorrhoids. I was then referred to the colonoscopy clinic. To my big surprised I was diagnosed with COLON CANCER. It was a big shock to me, I struggled to come to terms with what I was told. I started asking God so many questions even though God said in everything we should give thanks.

I got a lot of information about it which prepared me for my operation. After that I had six months of chemotherapy which is the most difficult time in my life. I was always tired extremely. During this time I was invited to the church and from then God healed me faster than I can imagine. Within six months I was cleared of cancer.
The God of RCCG Stokes Croft branch is indeed a good God. I believe my recovery has been with the help of God through prayers. I am thankful to God and anyone who helped me in these difficult times.
INDEED GOD IS A GOOD GOD.

FORGIVING SPIRIT
I used to struggle and battle with the spirit of unforgiveness until a friend shared this story with me. God, who ministered to me via the story also followed it up with a deliverance service, led by our Pastor. I was delivered and subsequently given a victory over such a spiritually ‘killing’ spirit. Below is the story just in case you’ve not heard it before;
“A teacher asked her students to bring some tomatoes in plastic bags to school. Each tomato will be given a name of the person whom that child hates.
Like this, the number of tomatoes will be equal to the number of persons they hate. On a decided day, the children brought their tomatoes well addressed. Some had two, some had five, some even had 20 tomatoes in accordance with the number of people each student hated.
The teacher told them they have to carry the tomatoes with them everywhere they go for 2 weeks. As days passed, the children started to complain about the spoiled and smell of the tomatoes. Students who many tomatoes had complained it was very heavy to carry and the smell was too much.
After a week, the teacher asked the students “How did you feel this one week?” The children complained of smell and heavy weight of the tomatoes, especially those who carried larger number of tomatoes.
The teacher said, “This is very similar to what you carry in heart when you don’t like some people. Hatred makes heart unhealthy and you carry that hatred everywhere. If you can’t bear the smell of spoiled tomatoes for a week, imagine the impact on your heart that you carry throughout life.”
The heart is a beautiful garden that needs regular cleaning of unwanted weeds. Forgive those who have angered you. This makes room for storing good things. Get better and not bitter. May God strengthen us so that we can forgive those who wrong us and take away every hatred we have in our hearts in Jesus name. Amen and Amen.
